Dr. Sarah Keenan-Lechel
I-69 Regional Director #6
Dr. Keenan-Lechel has served as regional director for Genesee, Lapeer, and St. Clair counties since 2019. Before that, she was working at Michigan State University teaching in the Masters of Educational Technology program, where she received her PhD in Educational Technology and Educational Psychology. Her research focuses on expansive ideas about what science is and can be. She is inspired by working with middle schoolers in STEM-rich makerspaces and from learning together with 3-5 year olds about the world around us.
Regional Advisory Board
The MiSTEM Region 6 Regional Advisory Board meets quarterly to share updates about how all stakeholders are working toward the State STEM Strategic Plan. They offer guidance and advice about how the MiSTEM regional director can advance the MiSTEM Advisory Council’s recommendations within the region given the unique assets and needs of the region. Our June meeting happens in-person, at a STEM-rich institution in the region – additional partners are welcome at this meeting.
